Default YHA in literature

Coming upon a YH featuring in an old children's book ('At close grips'
by Douglas Duff, where the hero keeps himself inconspicuous by posing
as a cycle tourist travelling between YH's) led me to wonder whehe else
they appear in fiction. The only other example which comes to mind is a
YH being mentioned in an Agtha Christie novel, where a landowner is
annoyed at foreign tourists staying at a nearby YH trespassing on his
estate. Anyone come upon other mentions ?

"Train, Train" by Graham Coster, published 1989.

The Hero, Greg, takes a summer job as Assistant Warden in a Lake
District Youth Hostel and gets involved in a scheme to re-open the local
branch line. The Warden is a 60-year-old eccentric and Greg never
discovers his name!

Thanks. Can't believe I forgot that one - it's on the bookcase across
the room from my PC!

Anyone else got more?
