Default What the stars mean...

I posted this ages and ages ago and although I don't want to revisit old
ground here's a slightly out of date specification for star ratings...

cm12-11445.pdf

Watch out, big'ish PDF and link might break across lines.

Thanks Tony - I've saved it for closer perusal later.

I was in luck a week or two ago.......
I was looking after YHA Edmundbyers and on one night the EnjoyEngland
secret cutomer visit took place. The lady was the only guest staying so
got lots of attention, but iIdid not know until she checked out who she
was or what she was doing.
Needless to say, I am now very experinced with respect to the ratings
system as I had a good chat about it all that morning. All I can say is
the system is not 'perfect' but is generally fair to YHA and the
independent market alike. 3 star is a 'high standard' and the assessors
are trying to maintain high standards, which I'm all for.

The good news is.... Edmundbyers is keeping its 3 stars - yip-ee. I'd
hate to be the one responsible for it dropping its standards..........
and only geting 2 stars, then closing as its no longer meeting 3 star
standard. That would be horrible.

.......good job I cleaned the bathroom, vacuumed the carpets and all the
other routine stuff that day. YHA staff work bloody hard I can tell
you, with many putting in extra hours to make their hostel that little
bit better. If you stay at a clean well run hostel, make sure you tell
the manager when you depart. They will be very grateful.

Karl.
