Does anyone know what Inverness YH is like?
From the SYHA website, it looks like the sort of hostel that may be full of children on school trips. I'm looking for somewhere to stay, in Inverness, on a Wednesday in May after the 5th day of a two week walking trip. I would usually choose an HI hostel over an independent, but I don't want an Edale or Llangollen experience if I can help it! Judith |

As the jumping off point for the North it tends to have a lot of independant travellers. My only complaint is that it is B&B only and the first train North leaves Inverness before you can have your breakfast ![]() Nigel replace SPAMHATER with n and t*sc*li with totalise |

I stayed there one weekend in September about 3 years ago and it was fine - it is a little bit of a walk from the station, but nothing to bad. There did seem to be some central independent hostels, but I've no idea what they are like. The dorms were small (maybe 4 beds?) so at least you couldn't be stuck with many kids! -- Arthur Figgis Surrey, UK |
