Default Publicity Stunts?

So....
What is your favorite publicity stunt?

I think I've rather enjoyed the goofy alien people claiming Cloning of late,
but has Utah ever had a good one?

This is the one that came to my mind immediately. It took a couple of
seconds to come up with the Olympics. Anywhere else I consider them and
honor and tradition. Here I think they were meant to act as a tool for
worldwide exposure and an attempt to give some credibility to a fringe
organization and government with NO credibility (IMO).

I've stumbled onto www.exmormons.com recently. Good reading sometimes.

This'll come as no news to you, but I disagree. We "used" the Olympics
just as any other 2nd or 3rd-tier (or worse) city uses them, as a chance
to shine. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this if the games are
executed well. AND the honor and tradition.

Like the tradition of bribing the OC?
Like the tradition of fixing the gold medal in figure skating?

Too bad that damaged fusions rep. We need some type of clean fusion power
source. Too bad Philo T Farnsworth wasnt able to refine and pursue his fusion
reactor late in his life. TV wasnt the only life changing thing he invented

And how the hell was that ANYTHING to do with Utah or its olympic organizers
or staff?. It was all the fault of the eurotrash national judges from
france and Russia and organized crime etc that had to do with that!!!!!

My problem is the way the city/church changed their face from the one
we, as residents, have to put up with. And when the games were over,
changed back.

It seems to me that if you really believe in what you're doing and are
proud of it, and it's right, no need to modify it for when people are
watching.

Not that its not something I'm used to and is really a common part of
"church" history. So it wasn't unexpected.

I'd have to go with self-proclaimied radio pranker "East Coast Bob"
leading psycho talk-show host Michael Savage into full-blown meltdown
on his MSNBC program, resulting in his firing from the network.

Absolutely brilliant. That will go down in the annals of talk radio
history.

Why would a TV show "go down in the annals of _talk radio_ history"?

I did not hear the actual deed.

Do you think it was a hoax and not your typical everyday radio call in?

Thanks for the link, Pete.

OK, let me get this straight. (no pun intended)

Mike Savage has a TV show that started fairly recently. The ratings,
according to that link, are not so hot.

Then a guy who is known to do pranks comes on the show, taunts Savage into
saying something that gets him fired?

Come 'on! haahaa, we will stay tuned and see the protesting fans demand he
be put back on the air??? And then MSNBC puts him back on the air, right?
With much better ratings since the entire US knows that he HAS a show
now................

STUNT!

Funny how limited that free speech thing is.

Haven't the liberals been complaining about their free speech because
people are choosing not to patronize that anti USA folks in Hollywood
(among others). Are those same people now protesting Savages' right to
free speech?
OH CRAP! I forgot. It's free speech for the people they agree with.
