I've lived in the same 98% Republican-registered neighborhood for 13 years.
EVERY election, until now, yards & houses were awash with entirely GOP candidates' campaign paraphernalia. This time, there are NONE. |

There's more support than before for Democrats everywhere, even in Utah. It won't make much of a difference in Utah, but it sure looks like it'll make a difference everywhere else. Watch the Sali-Grant race in Idaho, Cubin-Trauner in Wyoming, and races in Montana (Tester) and Nebraska (Kleeb). Even the Colorado Springs district (Fawcett) is a toss-up. -- Lynn Wallace If FDR fought fascism the way Bush fights terrorism, we'd all be speaking German now. |

It should be an interesting election.
Personally, I usually voted Democrat or just plain skipped voting for president because it was the lesser of the evils and I couldn't figure out which was lesser. This year, I'm really liking John McCain. Odd for me, to go republican. But I really like that guy. I especially like watching him bite his lip when he wants to bash Bush but can't because of the party line. This is a touchy subject for most. One easy way to start a fight this
holiday party. Lol. You see, for a lot of people voting in the presidential election is easy. You are either a republican, or a democrat. People tend to vote based on their party of choice, NOT the candidate. Unfortunately. Personally I tend to be stuck between the party lines. I am somewhat traditional on some subjects, while extremely liberal on others. Welcome to America folks. But does it really matter? The majority of people vote based on their representative's stand on the issues that they care most about. But the truth is they say only what is expected of them based on the party they represent. Death penalty. Abortion. Gay marraige. All very important presidential topics over the past 10 years or so. But has anything been done? Has anything really changed? No. Yet, these things still affect our votes come November. The truth is that it doesn't really matter how you vote. Nothing gets done. Nothing gets changed. Just check the little electronic box and choose Mr. Popular. The "spokesperson" for America. Okay, maybe I don't know what the hell I'm talking about. Maybe I'm just too young to understand (being only 20 years old), but I am smart enough to see the world around me. And it burns my eyes. David J. Ravy |

It sounds to me like you understand it all too well!
Some things DO change though, just not very often, you're so right. Pam emodesu wrote: > This is a touchy subject for most. One easy way to start a fight this > holiday party.
