Seems like typical Orrin Hatch: He uses his "conservative" cover to push what would otherwise be noted as a "left-wing" cause. He has done this repeatedly during his Senate career. And, worse of all, a lot of Utahans keep voting this guy back into office. Is there any chance in Hell that perhaps our Founding Fathers had a reason for this being in the Constitution other than just keeping "foreigners" from the presidency? Perhaps that an immigrant might not have totally given up his or her allegiance to their former nation, while their children who would be born here would have had no connection to it? Just look at the number of Mexican immigrants (both legal and illegal) who want to be able to keep their Mexican citizenship while enjoying the benefits of being in the United States (or being a citizen). I overwhelmingly believe that the Founders were much wiser than Senator Hatch, even though he constantly sees himself as being wiser than most of them combined. And as far as his claim that his proposal to amend the Constitution is not "taken lightly", that's absolute bull - he's proposed year after year an amendment to the Constitution to ban flag burning - an amendment which is totally unnecessary and gives the idea that there is something wrong with the Constitution itself. I think in both cases substitute the word "statist" for "left-wing" and you're both statements become more accurate. Hatch loves government, loves making it bigger, loves making it spend more, loves having it encroach on our freedoms more. That he does it all in the name of "conservatism" is what makes "conservatism" a morally bankrupt position in modern american politics. The "left" is the same way, its just a difference in the ways in which they want to grow the state. The "left" and the "right" argue about where and how they should grow the state as if everyone sits down on April 15th every year and says "Gee, I sure do wish the government were BIGGER!". -- "The Direct3D Graphics Pipeline"-- code samples, sample chapter, FAQ: <http://www.xmission.com/~legalize/book/> Pilgrimage: Utah's first annual demoparty on August 9th, 2003 <http://pilgrimage.scene.org> |

I believe earlier i heard that the MPAA and the RIAA have both said that if they could access the so called pirated data on ones hard drive they would attemp to destroy or delete said files even if it mean disabling access to ones computer. I say just let them try and let them get sued .
