Steels Mastmaking,Sailmaking & Rigging (from the 1794 edition) by
Claude S Gill ,Master Mariner.London 1932, some foxing,aboards a
little discoloured,otherwise a very nice copy.300 pages,large
format,heavy book.
Superb copy of this scarce mariners manual,with all the foldout
diagrams present and in good condition.Covers every class of vessel
from the full rigged ship to the ships boat including the progressive
method of rigging ships,and an illustrated section describing the
principal foreign rigs.This is a 1932 reprint of the 1794 first
edition.

Yes but they're all the rubbishy 1980s copies aren't they? The
cheapest decent copy seems to be $150 which is about 75 quid.
Many of the later copies are reprints of a later edition which is
minus the mastmaking element,and has a slimmed down sailmaking section.

That's OK... if you need a steel mast in the UK just go to the local
football (soccer not real football) Stadium lighting pole company.
