Default What is the future for At The Races

What future does At The Races have? Racing UK/Turf TV are doing
everything they can to get ATR of the air, first they take most of the
best courses (cos they own them), then they take American Racing, then
they take a financial stake in C4 racing and plug their channel to
death, then they start Turf TV and are doing some scandulous
promotions to get racecourses and bookmakers on their side.

Turf TV have signed Ascot so surely its only a matter of time beforre
Ascot go to Racing UK why would Ascot sign to turf TV if they were
happy with SIS & At The Races.

Exeter have go to the RHT/Jockey Club group which just happens to be
part of the Racing UK who own 13 other racecourses including Nemarket,
Haydock & Aintree, so eventually they will go to the Racing Uk family,
I can't see Racing UK letting Exeter stay with ATR after the Doncaster
rights fiasco.

Will Racing World let ATR keep Irish racing, you can bet they will put
every penny they can into getting the rights for that when they come
up.

Can ATR survuve if Doncaster remains there only grade 1 track.

They should broadcast ATR on FREEVIEW. Then their audience figures would
probably double and they could start charging advertisers more. Then I could
start watching it.

I agree ATR would have those independant racecourses camping at their
door if they went freeview 8 million extra viewers and all the extra
revenue. I see that Turf TV have had to slash the price in order to
get some betting shops on side but those betting shops will be crying
in December and January when ATR get most of the races there was one
week in February this year when 18 of the 21 races in the UK were ATR
tracks so Paddy Power, The Tote and co would have had blank screens
for most of the week, unlike the ones signed to SIS which can get the
big race feeds from BBC or C4 and in effect don't lose on a Saturday.
