I'm going to the Oaks on Friday, should I buy my Grandstand ticket in
advance? The last few times I have been to the Oaks it was run on a Saturday and the place was pretty quiet. Now that it marketed as Ladies Day and also has the Coronation Cup is it a near sell out? Derek. |

I've never had a problem and I've bought dozens from touts, particularly at Cheltenham. Mike. |

Touts would rip them up before you rather than sell them for less than the £100 they wanted. One dark night I got to the Albert Hall very late and only one lonely figure was hanging around. Wanna ticket he asked. It's a bit late I replied the show has started. The comedians on now he assured me, Sinatra will be on in five minutes. The doors are all shut I said. Quick round here he said and led me to a side door. £7.50 and it's yours he said. Best seat I've ever had a the Albert Hall, could practically have touched the great man. Derek. |

He turned the tickets down and the tout chased after him asking how much less than the face value that he wanted to pay. This was ten minutes before the first race.I had no confidence that the tickets were genuine and paid my £28 to get in. Seems that my doubts were right as according to the RP many people were refused admission. Derek. |
