Default First plunge

I've been trying out a new system/approach on paper for the last month. Now
it's time to put it to the acid test. If it works out, I'll post details.
If it doesn't, I'll take the secret to my grave (which might be sooner
rather than later if my wife finds out the state of my betting accounts).
Concentrating on Haydock today because I won't have access to Sky. Visiting
me dear old ma and pa.

Haydock 2:05. CABINET. Bred to stay this distance. Looked like he needed
opening run at Goodwood. Only concern is that his win last season came in a
sprint.
Haydock 3:10. PARADISE ISLE. Nothing else in the race looks a likely
challenger. Might be better value looking for one of the places.
(Haydock 3:40. Wolgan Valley is of interest but too many unraced horses. No
bet.)
Haydock 4:10. PRINCE EVELITH. In the past, I've tended to underestimate
continental horses. This one ticks all the right boxes for going, distance
and ability. I think he's open to improvement, too, while the others of
interest are all pretty much known quantities.
Haydock 4:45. No stand outs in the race. Don't like the look of the likely
favourites, Eager Igor and Perfect Courtesy. Run Free and Milson's Point
look better value but I'm not convinced. Maybe a couple of quid on each,
just in case.

I've found that, with *my* systems, there's safety in numbers. High
turnover, low profit but a smaller chance of going bust on any one bet. I
also bet for fun rather than an income (or even the infamous 'second
income') so I prefer to have an interest in lots of races.

If I ever get good at this, then I'll think about fewer, bigger bets.
