Default Chester Cup - Som Tala

Som Tala has to have a cracking each-way chance in this race. Has
proven stamina, improving, low-draw, light weight and a decent price
at 14/1. I can see this leading pillar-to-post as it did when beating
decent yardstick Ebtikaar over this trip at Ponty last season.

have got this one on my short list for much the same reasons as you have SG
and may go well when fresh.
Also I have FAIR ALONG on the list, has had a great season over the jumps and
trip should hold no terrors,Hobbs said on ATr earlier he was in it in case
theres something left, which doesn`t inspire confidence but,is a nice ew
price.WHISPERING DEATH has the Blinkers on today and had a nice pipe opener
at Yarmouth over 1m 6f which could put him in witha major shout here.If
ADMIRAL has recovered he may well win this again this year, and remember he
won it on seasonal debut! As ever oit is a bloody mine field that is Chester
and the Chester Cup so good luck to anyone taking them on :-)

Price dwindling now somewhat. My odds tissue rates him as a 12/1
shot. He improved significantly from race to race until the end of
last season. Whether he had simply had one run too many, or the
handicapper had finally caught up with him, we may find out today.
FAIR ALONG for me is where the value lies, showing a remarkable degree
of versatility, both as a hurdler and more recently as a novice
chaser, running blinders at both Cheltenham and Aintree. He won't
mind the tight circuit and with Jamie Spencer aboard looks a steal at
11.0 on Betfair. He should be nearer to 6's!

Beverley provides value too with KILIMANDSHARO in the 3.00. Whilst
raised in class this time, he's been consistent and improving, with
his recent Wolverhampton win achieved cutely, with something in hand.
Assuming his improvement has not plateaued, he offers terrific value
here.

Good luck chaps.
