Default Alonso car damage?

Anyone know exactly what the damage was on Alonso's car?
For just belly pan damage it sure slowed him down a lot.

Slowed him down so much he did the fastest lap on lap 43

rotfl! I didn't know that, then the only explanation for his erratic
race is that he was psychologically destabilised by LH. Unless he uses
his experience to pull himself together, then LH really is in with a
chance of the championship.

But he was overtaken several times. Something must of been up with his
car(?) Or do you reckon he just gave up - bit un-Wold Champion that!

Or was nervous after a bollocking for nearly wiping out his team mate at
the first corner?

Maybe Alonso's fastest lap, but I think you'll find that Lewis Hamilton set
the fastest race lap on lap 5.

You're right, except he did the fastest lap on lap 46. 1.16.367.
He'd already done the fastest lap on lap 43. 1.16.395.
Lap 5 was Hamiltons best lap at 1.16.939.

I'm sure the pass on Alonso by T. Sato has ruffled Alonso's feathers as well
as raised a few questions in the McClaren pits. I just can't imagine that
Sato could do that to Alonso without some kind of mechanical problem. Great
race though!

Alonso was driving on the soft tires (Sato on the hard tires) and with
his style of driving on a circuit that he doesn't like at all it could
be that those tires weren't in a very good shape at that moment..

But consistently 2 seconds off Hamiltons pace who pitted earlier?

The Ferraris came close to taking eachother out, too. Given the potential
for having a race without the top four cars, LH did well to get through to
the end, let alone win.
