Even if they bowl England out (possibly before tea, more likely just after), there won't be time to get the runs. If they have a chance to bat they will try to flay the runs, but will fall way short in the dark. Regards Declan, Okazaki, Japan |

This is what I'm going with, if we can get 200 we've got a right chance, especially if they've only got 30-40 overs left....and failing light. They will never go off for light but it will affect their ability to chase them properly. A few wickets early on could do it. I wouldn't be at all suprised to see Mr Gilchrist walk out early on whatever they need. Dave |

I agree - but it is certainly exciting...and England _could_ pluck an unlikely loss out of the jaws of victory. Very unlikely. It will be too dark for Australia to see the bowlers coming in, let alone the ball. > James (also in Japan) I remember you. Are you allowed to ride the tandem bike to work these days or did the evil forces of darkness continue the ban? Regards Declan, Okazaki, Aichi |

Now 178 runs in at most 65 overs...probably 55 in practice. That's already over 3 an over, and will rise rapidly from now on. > >>James (also in Japan) > > > I remember you. We found an out-of-the-way spot round the corner and have tried to keep a low profile since then.
