One of the proudest moments in our wee country's history

It's ironic that 18 hours after cheering England's defeat, I'll be cheering
for them to win....different sport though

A fantastic result for Australians living in Britain.

Only to be expected with the foreign vegetable in charge. No passion,
just a means of getting £5 million a year.

You can have the best players in the world but if the manager sets them
up in an absurd formation - Rooney on the left, Beckham playing deep in
front of the back four and missing Lampard and Gerrard out altogether
with his passes. Eriksson teed of Scholes to the point where he
wouldn't play for him. H e bids fair to do the same with others.

Odds on Erriksson is angling for a payoff and out.

What is needed is an English manager now.
There are plenty of good English managers - Allardyce would be my choice
because he has shown he can manage big name players. It is also time to
get rid of the ridiculous business of ignoring almost all players
outside the top clubs. There is plenty of English talent in the Coca
Cola league and plenty of players in the Coca Cola successfully play
international football.

From memory these are players in the Championship who are worth looking
at for now or the near future:

Goal - Green (Norwich), Smith (Southampton), Camp (Derby), Marshall
(Millwall), Royce (QPR)

Backs - Harley (Sheff U), Richardson (Leeds), Harding (Leeds), Billy
Jones (Crewe), Nayler (Wolves), Jagielka (Sheff U), Richards (Ipswich),
Shorey (Reading)

C-Halves - Bromby (Sheff U), Shackell (Norwich), Kilgallon (Leeds),
Hudson (C Palace), Davies (Derby), Heath (Coventry)

Midfielders Tonge (Sheff U), Pugh (Leeds), Walton (Leeds), Westlake
(Ipswich), Watson (C Palace), Sidwell (Reading), Cook (QPR), Carpenter
(Brighton), Smith (Derby)

Strikers - Ashton (Norwich), Johnson (C Palace), Nugent (Preston), Hulse
(Leeds), Howard (Luton) , Bowditch (Ipswich), Huckerby (Norwich),
McSheffrey (Coventry)

Even below the Championship there are quality players such as Commons
and Perch of Notts Forest and Fryatt of Walsall. RH

What colour is the sky in your world, Bob?

How many championship players are picked by the likes of Holland,
Brazil, Argentina, France, Portugal?

Eire are 4th, Scotland are 4th, Northern Ireland 4th, and Wales 6th in
their respective groups.

Believe me England have more than enough talent in the Premiership, but
much to the pleasure of us Celts, they just don't know how to built a
*team*.
