Vaughan seems not to have inherited Hussain's knack of losing tosses....!

Juicy for the Australians...

Well there turned out to be very little juice, didn't there?!

I think that Lady Luck has had it in for Ponting with regard to the toss
ever since he put England in at Edgbaston.

I'm not sure that he'll be cursing his luck too much tonight.

We won't know how important the toss was until the match is over. It's
plausible that if Australia had batted first they might have been
something like 340-5 at the end of the day. But it seems likely that
conditions over the next few days will be more favourable for
conventional swing than today has been (more cloud and higher humidity),
so it's not beyond the bounds of possibility that England will not be
punished for their inadequate total today.
