We won't know how important the toss was until the match is over. It's plausible that if Australia had batted first they might have been something like 340-5 at the end of the day. But it seems likely that conditions over the next few days will be more favourable for conventional swing than today has been (more cloud and higher humidity), so it's not beyond the bounds of possibility that England will not be punished for their inadequate total today. -- John Hall "Hard work often pays off after time, but laziness always pays off now."
