Can an extra 30 minutes be claimed on the last day of a Test Match - or
is it a maximum of 98 overs in the day? |

The overs that are left are the overs that are left and that is it. Dave |

And Jeff, only 2 overs are lost by the change of innings. If England make it to tea, having continued to score normally, I think the game will be safe. That would see a lead of 250-odd, with 40-odd overs to get them in. This is not a one-dayer, and if needed, England can bowl wide of the stumps with every man on the boundary. And with a bit of luck, the spectators will loiter around the sightscreens, streak, and generally find ways to waste time! Whatever happens, isn't it great that on the 5th day of the 5th test, the Ashes are still up for grabs ![]() |

Of course there is already a nominal 30 mins (8 overs) extra due today, but with a total of ~50 overs (=4 hours) to bowl after tea I can't see that happening :-) James -- James Annan see web pages for email http://www.ne.jp/asahi/julesandjames/home/ http://julesandjames.blogspot.com/ |
