(Jim Gallagher ?) >Ireland won, I don't have a scorecard.......... (John Hall ?) This was a cricket match between Ireland and England in 1855? I'm afraid that I haven't heard of this. I wonder how representative the England side was? Could it have been the famous "All England XI" run by William Clarke (IIRC)? That side were the Harlem Globetrotters of their day, playing sides all over England (and Ireland?) and raising the profile of the game wherever they went. Many of their matches were XI against XXII, I believe, which could have been the case here. -- John Hall "Home is heaven and orgies are vile, But you *need* an orgy, once in a while." I know Mr Cochoran[sp] fielded an Irish 11, but that would have been some 15 years later. Before my last backup and reboot I had all of this stuff at hand. max.it |
