Carolyn, if you read this, listen.
My old man abused me half my life, but in the other half changed his tune. That meant a lot to me, it helped me out, and today we're good friends. I've built you up to be important to me, but have never gotten anything from it but negative experiences, like my old man. By chance if there ever comes a change about you to be more courteous, not satire, no jokes, but friendship instead, then I'd welcome that from you. You could do me some good if you wanted. Jon |

You would have NO other way of knowing when 'half your life' was over. That, or your father plans to kill you exactly at the right time after he stopped the abuse. That seems a very plausible and commendable albeit belated action on his part. I suspect your mother may also be in on it. mike |
