The lunatic is unclear about all the details, and he's not sure how
everything works. To him it's the institution of a government system. It's primary use is for taxation, but its fringe benefits include the ability to maim or kill, as well as to heal. However it works, the lunatic explains that its inventors were so sure of it, that they deployed it without trial runs, and that as a result, a large group of unfortunate people got stuck in the system, but in a bad way. The lunatic contends that they are caught in a loop. They were supposed to end up victors and rulers over large populations. Instead, the lunatic says, they wound up being at the mercy of those populations. The populations don't know it yet, but now, they're the ones who have the ability to tax, maim or heal. The lunatic has tried to figure out how to undo the tangled mess, but has had no success. Finally he resolved to give both sides generally equivalent accommodations. I was listening to the lunatic rant... "Heaven is within the minds and hearts of all those who are of faith. They are stewards of eternity. The System seeks to exploit man's inner interface with the divine. They are trying to make a marketplace out of the sacred temple of all flesh. They want to pass digital signals through heaven's gate in man. If they prosper, the world is sure to fall prey to.." I didn't get the rest. The lunatic has gone to the mental hospital. These delusions of persecution merit an adjustment in his medication. Even his computer is running a bit slow for some reason. Maybe the hub of the species could use a little multiplexing. Dare |
