This person's complete abuse of certain newsgroups, some of them family
and religious oriented, has got to come to an end. Please do your part by forwarding the offending messages to the following internet provider contacts. They won't do anything until they get some volume. My apologies for the cross posting, but the loon has to be stopped. abuse@earthlink.net abuse@level3.com lynn@peoplepchq.com domainadmin@peoplepcHQ.com mike |

Jon's posts may be moronic, confusing, idiotic and boring, but if they made that a reason for exclusion it would keep out around half of the posters here. |

Please stop crossposting your flame wars to soc.religion.quaker. Please respect The Quaker religion and the the decision to be pacifists who do not participate in this sort of online warfare. |

Any news-reader worth its bytes will be able to plonk by the From header. More advanced news-readers have more flexible and powerful tools, particularly a "score file" - here is a score-file entry that would do what you want using the newsreader I use (slrn): %BOS [soc.religion.quaker] Score: =-9999 From: "Jon G\." <jon8338@peoplepc\.com> %EOS which is effectively a "plonk". I would still see any responses to his posts, but as people have largely given up trying to engage with him that wouldn't really be a problem. Determining for oneself who to read and who to ignore, is both quicker and more satisfying for oneself, and less intrusive on the activities and opinions of others, than trying to stifle or censor another person's messages at source. Whether the particular person concerned here needs the sort of help that no newsgroup can ever provide, is of course an entirely different matter. I have today found reference in another newsgroup to this article in a Google (web-forum-only) Group <http://groups.google.com/group/Googl...hread/thread/b 30b199a67e2ca8e/7fdcf5485f05241f> or <http://qurl.net/1Pn> for short; "Google Groups Killfile / Twit Filter via Internet Explorer". In fact there are links there not only to a "browser helper object" for Internet Explorer, but also to a Firefox javascript (requires the "GreaseMonkey" extension too) and to a purpose-made Google Groups browser that would run on at least some Windows systems, I think. All of them provide a very basic "killfile" that works in conjunction with the Google Groups web interface. I have tried the javascript with Firefox on my Linux system, and it does seem to work quite well. It doesn't work with Opera as it stands, but that may simply be a matter of a few tweaks to the original script - I'm no expert though. It may work with other browsers that can make use of 'user javascripts'. Given the huge improvement it could make to the newsgroup experience of those who can't or won't use a proper newsreader, I think this information should be widely disseminated! -- -- ^^^^^^^^^^ -- Whiskers -- ~~~~~~~~~~ |

That's why I don't even bother reading replies to my posts, which are intelligent, articulated, understandable and interesting. I estimate that cry babies constitute 1%, and the rest anticipate hearing from me daily. I've got Linux, too. What's the big deal? I got a book explaining every command. I don't have to read it to get around you freaks. Probably your mental disabilities are due to excessive inbreeding. |

Jon, your posts are little more than the deranged ramblings of a madman. Somewhere, deep down in your confused, befuddled brain, even you must realise that. > > I've got Linux, too.
