Default curious about strange creatures

I realize this will sound a little strange, but I am doing a research
project on strange creatures that people see. (Who sees them, why do
they see them, etc.) Particularly I am looking for someone who has
seen or who knows someone who has seen a black hooded figure with
giant claws. (No, no trick-or-treaters or creatures from movies.)
Thanks.

If you wished to appear sinister and threatening you might consider
adopting a similar appearance. So when you also consider that spirit
are capable of showing themselves in any number of guises and that
they also have a variety of natures and motives, it might become clearer how
this can work where spirit are concerned.

I can't actually give any credence to the suggestion that they might
have any objective reality, because if they were 'real' where do
they get their clothes? is there some sort of demonic clothes store where
they shop for the latest in spooky fashion?

I'm far more inclined to attribute it to the behaviour of some sad
and pathetic earthbound spirits out to increase their profile through
whatever means possible.

All I can say is the three times I've 'met' them when giving out messages or
whatever, they've always been spirit beings. Black hoods and gowns, very
tall with glowing red eyes. They've never come across as threatening, but
whenever I politely ask them to move along they are totally unshiftable. The
other time I came across one it politely pointed out it was a guide for the
person involved, and when their own fear and ideas changed then they would
seem as they actually 'were'. I'm not saying that is always the case though.

Not too sure with that part Ian. Whenever I've remotely come across living
persons using the negative energies etc they tend to come through as
something different altogether. It's a different feeling. That said we all
do things in our way so you could be right.

Care to elaborate on that Allan, I'm not sure I'm with you?

I've not had any personal experience of these critters with which to form
a more informed opinion, but wherever I've come across something like
this that has been used to scare people, it's the earthbound brigade at
work.

Author John A. Keel (the Mothman Prophecies, The Eight Tower, etc) has
an intriguing theory I tend to lean toward believing: that such
"entities" are created out of pure energy from the Superspectrum. Once
endowed with a kind of pseudo-life, they perform whatever cryptic
purpose they serve, then they dematerialize leaving maybe a pile of
silicon or a foul stench.

British history, "Springheeled Jack," who in the 1830s frightened
people then jumped over ten foot fences and disappeared. Or America's
own Maskatoon gasser would be examples of these surreal creatures. Or
the large mystery cats that attack livestock and leave footprints--
that start nowhere and end nowhere-- but never any fur or fecal matter
that a living cat would produce if it was roaming about.

The "science" of cryptozoology is as fascinating as it is totally
unproductive. Some of those "transmorgrifications" are harmless and
even benign, but most are deadly dangerous. Not people dressed for
Halloween or anything else; not people at all, but energized forms of
flesh that only temporarily exist to serve a purpose. But nobody knows
what that ultimate purpose really is.

It always happens in the same way. I'm stood by a door I've led the spirit
to, and they either enter willingly or get dragged in. My guides advise me
along the way, but a lot of the time the 'arguments,' used are mine. The
only time I have ever turned a spirit over to my guides was when I was told
to by them. It was a very unwilling and nasty energy. Basically, I think I
was almost bait in the trap in that instance, and just drew it into a
position it could be grabbed. Maybe there is a difference in energy between
the really really dead who dwell in the spirit realms, the fairly dead who
are earthbound spirits, and the merely talking to the dead who are the
mediums.

We all work differently. I think I'd rather 'know' from a distance than have
to get close enough to look. As soon as I see the shadow I tend to look a
lot closer, and that's usually when the deception gets dropped by the
spirit.

It's happened a few times in remote readings when I've picked up someone
(for want of better words) using black magic against another. It goes from
a spirit link to a psychic one. Usually the person understands the
description, and either already suspected, or knew the other was using black
magic. I dunno what a thought form is, unless it's that piece of paper I
have to sign before the Mrs lets me ask a question
