What a day this turned out to be. Not expecting much i trekked into one of
my favourite woods. Slow start with a 2p, then a 10p and 5p together, then a "3d returnable" bottle cap. Then a loud bang which frightened the beejus out of me. (thought someone was sending the lifeboat out until I realised i live in sheffield) Then well off the beaten path, came across a large target, dug down, uncovered six pound coins, 2 old pennies, a ha-penny and three thrupenny bits. How did they come to be there? unknown but I did find a yellow, snake skin type bag 6 foot away when my Sov found the prestud. I reckon a purse snatch or similar in the 60's then someone came and dumped some quids on top without knowing. Deeper into the woods I find a plaque with Birmingham Safe Co. on. twenty steps further, I find the safe. Looks about 60-70 years old, empty (darn it) checked it thoroughly to see if there was anything left but couldnt find owt. A bit further on I find a penny whistle in a clearing. Then whilst moving some leaves I find the end of a trumpet (or trombone) tickled me pink this. Ill get the photos online soon. Im off to polish my trumpet whilst watching Boudica on tele.
