When you get it working, see if you can rig it up to take us back a few centuries. That way, we can see exactly where those folks buried their treasures, or lost them. Which raises a moral question: ... Suppose we're back in (say) 1800, and we see some guy lose a silver dollar out of his pocket. What do we do? Pick it up and hand it to him, saying, "sir, here you are, you dropped this?" Or, do we say something like "sir, we're from the year 2006 by way of a time machine, and 206 years from now we are going to dig up the silver dollar you just lost?" Anyway, if you can get the darned thing working, it would surely save us a lot of time, travel, batteries, and shoe leather today ... Cheers, Joe |
