Thanks a lot folks for the friendly advice. It suddenly occured to me
that a work colleague of mine who I'm very friendly with rents a farm
and has some horses on a couple of fields that he has. He said he has
no problem about me going along this weekend. When asked whether he
knew if there was any history attached to the land, he said he thought
a Roman Road or footpath was supposed to have crossed it.....What a
bonus and a good place to start. BTW I live in north Leicestershire.
