Default Photographing Coins

Can anybody offer advice on photographing (digital) or scanning coins ? Have
tried various settings but have yet to produce a good example.

with my digital camera I've found the method described at the links
below works
pretty well....... a bit of trial and error with camera settings and now
I'm getting some pretty good results........

I found scanning is superior to a digital camera scan at high resolution !
after you can cut the image size down for emailing allso you can enlarge it
to see small details I DO own 3 digital cameras !!!! one of them a £800 one
but when at home prefere Scanning ................G
