Hi,
I ran a day of testing running my Fisher Coinstrike against the Tejon. They matched in number of finds and each could read the other's signals until they went deep. In slightly mineralized clays & top soil the Tejon had an average working depth of 6-7" max. I had a .58 cal bullet in the hole and the Tejon could not hear it with the 5" thick plug removed in DISC mode. The Tejon was using a 9" eliptical coil. We re-ground-balanced the Tejon carefully (manual) and tried over and over from different angles and even reduced the DISC to the point above switched off. Nothing. The Fisher CS could easily hit the bulet with a solid ID and tone from any angle, using the 10.5" coil. It can do the same with the 8" coil. The Tejon was then switched in All Metal mode and it could easily target the bullet. Of course the Fisher CS could too. So there ya go. Overall an OK audio only machine with dual DISC and nothing fancy. Manual GB is a pain and the battery compartments are junk and will surely be changed in future models. It reminded me of a Fisher 1266X. However in my tests it would not go deep. It is possible that there is variation in what is shipping and I only tested one machine. hh -=john=- |
