Best way to find out is test it yourself.
Different ground conditions can produce different
results.

Have fun with your new detector!

You've fallen in the usual beginners trap of buying the detector before you
asked the questions
on how good that detector is!

I would hardly call buying any detector a "trap."
There's nothing wrong in simply buying a detector
and getting started in a fun hobby.

No agreed, but the point I,m making is that the question should have been
asked before making the purchase.

What if the answer was 'it'll only go as deep as 1inch on an old penny'. I
think she'd be pretty p'ed off she didn't
buy a different detector, or asked before she bought the bounty hunter.

Ignore this Bozo, Deborah, and enjoy your new detector.

She asked for advice and got it, just because you don't agree, doesn't mean
its not valid.
Pity you didn't get my point, despite explaining myself further, and then
you have to resort to insults.

And, just because *you* don't agree doesn't mean I
can't express my opinion. And, my opinion is that
your comments were very unhelpful.

Your "point" was exactly, "You've fallen in the
usual beginners trap of buying the detector before
you asked the questions bon how good that detector
is!"

And yes, I do get it. It's a gross putdown and a
very unhelpful comment to make.

Yes. A shame isn't it?

No she didn't get advice, she got some condescending BS. Nor did she ask
for advice, she asked if the detector she bought was an OK piece of
equipment.

So, Deborah, ignore this Bozo, enjoy your detector and please understand
that your fellow detectorists are much like the treasures you'll
uncover. Some are nuggets and some are pull-tabs. Learn to discrimate
the pull-tabs and you'll enjoy your new hobby immensely.

Oh, and by the way, a Bounty Hunter is a perfectly appropriate choice.
Now go find something...
