Default Newbies new finds...

OK, so i'm learning the the hard way, digging up junk when the detector is
saying 'hey, this is junk' but have had a couple of intriguing finds today.
One is a large belt buckle with a greenish patina that doesn't look
particularly ancient but may be a century or two old. Ther other find is
what appears to be a plain lead spindle whorl. About Ø1", and very white
oxidation, i'm currently researching on the net for a rough date. Also
another item from the shadows of a very old gnarly looking tree. Again, with
a slight greenish tinge to it and looking like part of a buckle but maybe
something completely different! I'll photograph and post them in my free
webspace soon....
On a different note, why the hell does time fly so quickly when you're
detecting???!!!
