Just replying to my own post from Google Groups as can see no action
(in this group at all), so just checking my ISP etc works Mark. Mark Jones' Laptop2 wrote: > Want to get back into this hobby, what's the suggestions on entry-level (I'm > not a ten year old - I'm nearly 40) machine please and where to buy? > > Mark |

This newsgroup has almost no activity so you may do better by searching for
a metal detecting forum or contacting one of the bigger metal detector retailers for a list of clubs in your area where your questions should get an answer. I have done little detecting in the last couple of years other than beach detecting with a pulse induction detector so my knowledge may be out of date but for what it's worth take a look at the Tesoro range as these tend to be simpler to set up than many detectors yet have good depth and are light to swing. Go for a Motion Detector type of machine. Also you will need a metal detectors' shovel. Regards Mike. |

I would not consider the machines in Maplins you will be disapointed with
their results. Like everything in life you get what you pay for, you need to consider your budget first and then maybe consider a second hand machine, their are a number available in teh detecting press. J.
