Welcome to the group. This comes from away across the pond in Florida -- not in UK, but regularly enjoying the news from you good chaps. We smile broadly when you find a hammered silver, as we have nothing that old here. However a fellow in Ft Pierce (Florida) recently got a 'beep' on some coral washed up on a beach there. Whenever you get a signal from inside a piece of coral, you know it's old. Turned out to be an emerald and gold ring from a sunken Spanish ship, going back 250 years. It's priceless, and he gave it to his wife. Still, we envy you the history you walk over every day, and that you occasionally find. Joe |
