Andy, I would like to make some constructive criticism about some content of
your e-book.

1. Regarding sending letters to landowners seeking permission.

Whilst I was a site secretary for a detector club, as an exercise in
obtaining permission, we sent out over 100 "carefully worded" letters
including STAMPED ADDRESSED ENVELOPES for replies.
Do you know how many actually bothered to reply? - FIVE!
Four were refusals and one was granting permission.
Our far best success rate was achieved by actually visiting and talking to
the landowners in person. Our rate went up from 1% to 80%!
Most landowners like to see you face-to-face.
Also it is so easy for them to say no to a letter or on the phone.

2. Regarding landowner/detectorist contracts.

In my experience this one can be tricky, sometimes leading to losing
permission you may have worked hard to get.
Most landowners don't like being pressured into anything like that.
Once you find something worth sharing with the landowner, that's the time to
start talking about any contract - not before.
Most landowners are friendly and amenable, they are unlikely to demand all
the proceeds.

Can I respectfully suggest you do some in-depth research amongst the
detecting community and clubs and find out just how things are really done?
