> about you Jim, I'm in Surrey Lee, but have been known to travel.... I went to see the new Doc yesterday, and a fine young chap he is too. He seems a bit limited on land to search and I think he might well have already exhausted it, but I'm sure he could get the rest of southern England if he tried, smooth talking bugger !!! Others ? |

limited on land to search? lol ive never had permission from ANYONE except
the county council to search their burnt car strewn playing fields where I cant dig anyway. The only way I find some where to go each weekend is spending half my week planning where I can go for the weekend, the more research I put into it the more I seem to find. Next location is a rumoured deserted medieval village, which sits unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) deep inside Sherwood Forest. Be a good excuse to get lost for the day anyway lol. One of these days I wont come back. You ought to see how many trousers I get through. Even the ones i have on
now have bramble holes. My arms ans legs look like theyve had a fight with a manic cat. Still Im a firm believer in the pleasure / pain theory so ill keep going regardless. I search in the goldfields in Victoria, not as old as what you blokes get
(1851-1910s)but we do get coins dating back as far as the 1790s in the 1850s campsites. I mostly look for gold and belt buckles but the other stuff you find from all over the world is great. There are camp sites here that had twenty thousand men in them that are now just bush in the middle of nowhere. Do you lot get any gold of a decent size over there ? .
