Default How do I clean Brass.

I have an old brass eyelet probably from a ships sail. Not at all valuable,
but how can I clean all the barnacles and muck off it, so it is nice and
shiny?

Well I boiled it, got rid of barnacles etc, but eyelet is still black in
places with some crusty 'oxidisation'(?), It is not worth anything, I'm just
trying things to clean it...I left it in Cola overnight with no effect. Any
other ideas?Cheers.

Try the juice of one lemon with a teaspoon of salt. Rinse it well
afterwards.
