Depends on what detector your using - some models are better than others for pinpointing. What detector have you got? |

I am using the bounty hunter pioneer 202 the damn thing cost 200 bucks I hope that it is good or at least decant I live in louisiana, Baton Rouge and finding good spots are kind of hard around here... I still have not quite got the filters figured out yet I am never sure about if I turn it too high I will not detect gold or silver or if it is too low I get alot of bottle caps and nails and junk. Are grave yards a good place to hunt? would you have any reccomendations? so far the best place I have found is at the university here in the parade grounds lits of grass but it has been walked on for so many years that it is hard to dig sometimes. There are no beaches really in louisiana so that is not really an option. I am thinking new orleans would be great but I just dont know where to start Thanks for any help or advice you can give... |

Bit of a bummer living somewhere with bugger all recorded history, isn't it? Just down the road from me are plenty of 2000-year old Roman remains, and a bit further afield I can go look at 6000 year old religious sites. No metal there; we hadn't invented it back then. > I still have not quite got the filters figured out yet I am > never sure about if I turn it too high I will not detect gold or silver or > if it is too low I get alot of bottle caps and nails and junk. Watch out for the general public if you do; a lot of people would consider searching a graveyard to be on a par with bodysnatching or something; if you do have a go, wear a suit, a pair of sunglasses and think "Men in Black" mysterious meets X-files. Be just ever so slightly disturbing, in a governmental sort of way; it might save you from a slapping. > would you have any reccomendations? so far the > best place I have found is at the university here in the parade grounds lits > of grass but it has been walked on for so many years that it is hard to dig > sometimes.
