I am based in the UK and looking for an ex-MOD (Foerster) Ferex
4.021/Mk26 bomb locator. These machines were widely used by EOD and I understand that they have recently been replaced / are in the process of being replaced by a newer model (4.032). The older machines have either been recently sold off or are due to be sold off soon, so hopefully a number should be available. I require a machine in good overall condition and in working order and would also be interested in any accessories that may be available - transit case, data-logger etc. If you are a dealer with one in stock or have a lead as to where I can obtain one, I would be very pleased to hear from you! I have a Fisher Gemini 3 which I used for locating crashed aircraft
wreckage, I have lost count the number of sites we excavated using my earlier Mk2 model throughout the 80's & 90's. A truely superb unit for finding deeply buried wreckage. Ian McLachlan has a Forster Locator, but it was an awkward thing to set up so the Gemini ruled the crash sites. Try a G Mk3 or a TM808 unit Fighter Stories 2 will be out in May, many of our excavations found with the Gemini will be in there. Best regards Simon "mmmmmmm, the smell of wartime avgas in a deep muddy water filled hole with masses of twisted aluminium, nothing compares......"
