I wonder what he bases this on? When CB stated it was popular due to "Convoy" etc and its ability so provide cheap accessible communication. Unless there is "Convoy the Return" in the wings (God forbid), with the comms side covered by mobile phones and Email etc, I can't see it myself. >Weather its disgruntaled M3's returning or new > blood I dont know ![]() Why would they "return", assuming they ever were on CB (a minority of my recent students have any real history of CB). Don't worry about it... they'll all be dead soon enough, either from emphysema because of the foul dog end roll-ups, asphyxiation (forgetting to breathe on a marathon 4 hour over through 'the box') terminal halitosis/body odour or their long suffering wives will beat them to death out of sheer sympathy for the rest of humankind > >sorry rant over.. > > -- Clint Sharp |

Inspired quite a number of youngsters to enter the hobby (and profession in most cases). I've always wondered why 11m is not an amateur band primary and CB band secondary. No reason why not, just lack of imagination I guess. Callsigns on CB seemed to go down like a lead balloon, I'm guessing this was too little too late. Oh well, who needs CB when you can have 10watts SSB/AM/FM/CW on either 160, 80, 40, 20, 17, 15, 6, 4, 2m and 70cm after a weekend course, take your pick. Gareth G1LVN (2K1LO) |
