All you will find is a keygen for channels like Setanta and TVX as these are not encrypted but are PPV and require a PIN to unlock them , unlike TopupTV who's encryption (SECA2) has NOT been cracked.. Though SECA2 has been cracked in Italy/Spain, TopupTV use a different version and so far it has not been done and as the content of Topup is crap it's unlikely will ever be done.. |

I am not sure how much TTV costs, if they get that with the box, but maybe Freeview will have the info or a link... http://www.freeview.co.uk/ Regards, Peter. |

I would expect the prices to gradually drop until switchover. After switchover, anyone without one will not be getting one - so the bottom will drop out the market. Production of boxes is likely to stop, with shops clearing their old stocks at really low prices. Production will then focus on digital TVs, rather than boxes to add digital. A few years back, the bottom fell out the TV market. Whole chains of stores disappeared. Even Dixons / Currys retail group closed many stores a while back. TVs had remained the same for some years, colour and Teletext were old technology, so there was no reason for people to be buying new sets. Digital has given the market a boost but, after switchover, that will gradually die off as everyone ends up with complete digital TVs. CB has remained mainly the same for many years, just a few small changes, but I wonder if CADS will give CB a boost. The number of churches may be small, but what of the members buying them to listen? Also, this may give the band some publicity, with church members realising that they can also use them to talk to each other - even if they don't need them to listen to the services. Regards, Peter. |

This is why the next standard is MPEG-4. > that would be hard to do... They could still change to MPEG-4, just that it would be from MPEG-2 I would be interested to know whether there are plans to change and whether existing equipment would be able to adapt, considering that MPEG-4 has been around some time. I find it hard to believe that, after years switching over, they would then change the standard and leave the British public with a sht-load of new, but rather useless, equipment. Anyone spending Hundreds, or even over £1000 on a TV would go ape if that was then made useless by another change in transmission standards.
