I know there is not a lot we can do,but ssb from the rest of the world on
our UK fm channels is just about doing my head in! Gran Canaria and Spain use 27.780-27.785 (Our channel 19) as what it seems to be their calling channel.I know germany uses 27.765 usb as their calling frequency,as I spoke to a disgruntled german trying to make contact with a friend after hearing fm activity on ssb recently. At least he came on to fm and had a chat.I wish Spain and the rest of the world would just stay below 27.600,they don't go into the 10 ham band now do they? (Well not often!) Perhaps if the countries of the world adopted a bandplan similar to the amateur bands, where you only use a certain mode in different parts of the band, not only would they not cause or recieve unwanted interferance from other modes, they would probably be more likely to get the contact they are after! Anybody have any thoughts on this?
