It is almost identical to the Superstar 360 FM (internally and externally) anyway but Google Images has some of the real thing. http://images.google.com/images?q=superstar%203900 Note there are a few 3900 variants... some use a 3 way band selector with a Hi-Lo switch to select between ABC and DEF and have the infamous 2SA1012 supplying power to the finals as used in the original PB010 chassis. The better ones have a 6 way band selector and a beefier transistor supplying the finals. -- Posted via a free Usenet account from http://www.teranews.com |

In fairness, I asked the question before I did a google search, bad, bad me but in my defence the rigpix site doesn't have the 3900 which is the radio I wanted to look up. no not new around 20 years old already,
but bear in mind rigpix is an amateur radio site, more than a CB site, as there's not many intelligent CBers that can make a gallery for CB... do a search there are a couple but again, these sites have stock and stolen pictures of old CB from the 80's, nothing new.. It's a treat to watch. Likewise, I have a graceful needle on my FT-890. Still, fairy lights look pretty in a car at night.... innit.... especially LED ones, if you like that sort of thing... and some still do funnily enough... Looks like it's Solid state. My only problem with my 102 is that you have to plate it when you change bands. It's great for competitions etc. .. I got an 897 too. It's a terrific sounding radio and the vfo is as smooth as silk but the meter is an LCD bar and the front end as a whole is dissapointing. I much prefer the front end on the 847. Ok it's not moving coil but at least Yaesu attempted to make it look like one. > Graham > -- > -- ...-- -.-- ... ..- > > Radio is only a Hobby. I also like moving coil meters, my FT840 has a nice one, like watching it
(whether you have it switched to PO or ALC) at night on the boat, trouble is the amp don't 'alf cane the battery, and the antenna on the mast gets hot and glows, no good for the bonding. Mick. You wouldn't want to be under Wexford bridge, not tonight anyway.
