Default Review: Superstar 360

Hi,
What about this one?
I must say, I have to ask as there appears to be very little with regards to
rig opinions on the web.

Thx

It was held in high regard 30 years ago. Things have moved on, so should
you.

Same as the cobra 148GTL DX mk 2. Still basically hi mid low unless modified
but it does have FM although its the FCC FM and not the UK. You can converse
on FM with people on the mid block PR27GB but unless its been eprommed you
can only get close to the UK channels, ie. 19 UK would be 33 high but it
would be a few KC's off frequency unless you got the positioning of the KC
shift right then you would only be able to get upto UK ch 26.
A well sort after radio in its time and much better than the Madison
homebase IMHO,
Graham

Graham is right. I used to have a Cobra 148GTL DX MkII. Loads of channels
in a small mobile rig. I can remember paying £188 for it about 1984.

I thought the Superstar 360 was exactly the same except that it was a fully
UK legal unit, until a plug was put in the PA socket in the back, which then
gave it the full functionality of the Cobra.

Great radio and highly expandable. I used to have one but saved all my
pennies to buy a Yaesu FT100. When opened up will transmit on the 11mtr
band with 100 watts straight out of the back. Its tiny and can be
mounted remotely in the car. You cant beat HF amateur gear for 11mtr dx
although I do have a Cobra 148 GTL-DX which I currently use.
