And I;ve just spoken to someone in Ofcom who has agreed with this
interpretation, provided that the SSB equipment meets ETS 300 433.

So it is 100% legal to transmit in AM SSB on any of our 80 (40 Euro / 40
UK)channels ? You sure about this ?

No - it's legal to use ETS 300 433 CEPT kit in Europe. We're part of
Europe.

So FM/AM 4w and SSB 12w on the Mid band appears to be legal under EU
legislation that overrides the order prohibiting AM and SSB in this
country.

My mate got his SSB rig nabbed by the DTI years ago can he have it back now?

Only if it was an ETS 300 433 radio - which I doubt.

So where's a great Emporium to buy my shiny new SSB rig then with the spec

Yes of course give Ofcom a ring. You can buy ETS 300 433 stickers off ebay
