Default Problems with set up?

I just finished installing a cb set with antenna on my vehicle. The trouble
is that i get a lot of static and interference..I have placed the antenna on
the centre of the roof, i have checked all cables for any damage, i have
swr'ed the antenna.
What is the problem here??Its not interference from the engine as i also
installed a filter.

Is the interference there when the engine is running ?, if yes, then it is
the engine despite the filter.I presume you mean a power line filter.
There can be lots of ways the engine can cause this, not just down the
power line, it can radiate directly to the aerial.

Then it sounds like you need a decent ground on the radio and the aerial.
Could also be faulty connections at the plugs etc.
Does it pick up this in all locations or only at your home because it may
just be local interference. BTW could you bottom post, makes it easier to
follow the thread.

What type of radio do you have and does this interference occur just at your
home 20 or does it happen wherever you are?
