Yes, 25 yrs of legal (ish) roger dogering and 10-4'ing that rubber duck. Is it really 25 yrs ago that I got my first FM 27/81 CB..... A Binatone 5 Star at £110 which had £5 discount off the supplier because we bought three together (Had this 1 week before 2nd Nov) and a Moonraker Magmount Antenna.... 5 to 9lb on every channel and thousands on in the local area (In the following months) ... Why yes it was... my god I'm getting old. Back then I still had a Midland 150m which covered lo/mid/hi on AM/FM and a Cobra 148GTL-DX. I had a ringo 5/8 wave homebase antenna (Illegal back then) and a backup DV-27 twig for the car. I will switch the old chicken box on in a bit (Now a Cobra UK29LTD-ST) and pray for some sporadic-E. 73 and keep on Breaker Breaking.... we gone....... Graham -- -- ...-- -.-- ... ..- Radio is only a Hobby. Don't let it rule your life... 73/51 - Hem-Free (www.open-channel.co.uk) |
