Correction, will not legally need a licence.

I'm all for paying for things that have a reasonable purpose. However that
was just another outstanding tax that has now become too expensive to
process, so it has been dropped.

Wow you people still paying to use your CB radio, here in Australia we
havent had to have a lic for our CB Bands for years.

We have 2 bands 27MHz and 477MHz.

You think that's bad?
Although we have had licences from the beginning (1981), it was only recently decided to issue official
callsigns for CB users. I believe America did away with that back in the 1970s, yet our government took
a huge leap backwards by issuing them..

Peter.

I said, you haven't needed a licence anyway, only to remain legal, but that
it served no useful purpose other than as a tax for the government, which
has now become unprofitable to collect/process, so has now been dropped.

Even ZPK understood what I meant.

You think the Amstrad 901 in question has been un-used in the cupboard all
this time?

Doubtful...

The Amstrad 901 I think you refer to is too far away for me to hear it on
the jolly old 1-9.
