Default CB de-regulation

Found in another newsgroup.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ofcom have announced that CB Deregulation along with 27MHz CADS,
legalisation of iTrips and licence exempt operation of car radars in the 24
GHz Amateur Secondary Band will take place on 8th December.

----
Ofcom email:

Ofcom held a consultation to amend the Wireless Telegraphy Act Exemption
Regulations to allow additional apparatus to operate in the UK without the
need to hold a WT Act licence. The scope of the changes to the regulations
were detailed at
http://www.ofcom.org.uk/consult/cond...ption/summary/

The necessary regulations have now been authorised and signed. Therefore,
Ofcom is pleased to tell you that the proposed amendments to UK regulations
will come into force on the 8th December 2006.

Took it's time in appearing on the CB newsgroup, been waiting to see who
would post first.
Anyone wants a CB licence between now and the 8th Dec, send in for it as
usual, a licence will be issued, but won't have to be paid for.
So if I start keying up without a licence just now, chance I'll get
busted, go down in the record books as the last CBer to be busted for
transmitting without a licence?

Get real, i dont think anyone has been busted for using CB without a
licence for years now, most people have never had one.

Heres the latest figures for CB enforcement:

I have been busy over the weekend, so I only saw the Ofcom Email the
day I posted it on this group.

I have even found the time to update the Web site with the information and a link.

Peter.

tut tut tut...

it is my opinion that youre even less on-the-ball
than the foul-mouthed-white-feathered chicken that
goes by the username meghertz.

Very true.
Interesting point though, that means there are more folk busted by the
police for committing an offence over the airwaves than those busted
for licence infringment?
