You'll really need to get a homebase or mobile system, not enough users for handhelds, unless of course you're high up on Horseshoe Pass. You should get plenty of truckers on the A5 (or whatever the road is called) on the way up to Chester. |

I am sorry to say that in my experience CB is VERY quiet now. Mobile phones and internet messaging having just about killed it off. If you really want to use radio how about a Foundation License for amateur radio? With a FL you can use the 2m and 70cm repeaters (there is at least one of each that cover Wrexham) as well as simplex (ordinary) channels for local contacts. You are allowed 10 watts and can talk to the world on HF |

After they have been demoted to the Red army band roadies. About 20 years to late for Amateur radio, its all shop bought KenYausAlinc stuff with hardly any home brewers. All anyone plays with is aerial's, that's because anyone can rig up a dipole, as in you don't need much gumption for antenna making. BORING. Get yow self a biiiGGG Hawwwwg and go the coast looking for smelly Welsh rabbit. |

I prefer the charm of working stations as far away as I can with as little power as I can. |
