A friend mailed me asking me the following question. Does anyone know the
answer as i have had no real experience with this radio yet? ... Hi, Ive got a Midland 48 plus multi and seem to be having a problem with the PA function. The problem i have is a tricky one. When i am in CB mode, i cant use the PA unless my squelch is turned down. The PA function comes up on the screen but no noise is heard through the PA Horn. I can get the PA to work by switching the unit on in PA mode, or by turning the squelch down before flicking to PA mode, but it wont work while squelch is turned up, which is annoying! Any help would be great, would just like to know if this happens with everyone or if its a fault with my unit. Thanks in advance, Darren Best wishes, Graham -- www.open-channel.co.uk |

I have just had 2 Midlands exchanged with a similar problem!
I hadn't played with the squelch, but found that keying the mic as you flick the switch over usually did the trick. If its still under warranty from Midland -like mine were, then may be worth asking for it to be looked at. It is starting to sound like there is a faulty batch. cheers John "The Magnum" <magnum@NOSPAMmag2781.freeserve.co.uk> wrote in message news:cv7sc6$r1l$1@newsg1.svr.pol.co.uk... > A friend mailed me asking me the following question.
