Hi,
next door have a hole in the fascia board and last year Starlings nested in there. Midway through that period workmen turned up to fix the hole. I stopped them because the chicks could be heard shouting. They agreed and left. Nothing happend since then, until today, nearly a year later, the workmen turn up again to fix the hole. I believe the Starlings have built a nest again and I informed them, he said it was too early for them to nest but he would go back to the office to check a list of dates regarding nesting times of birds. Would there be eggs in the nest now? Any help/advice welcome. Ian |

Eggs are very unlikely, and even for a nest it is early. > Any help/advice welcome. Give the starlings a nestbox. -- p.a. |

It is unlikely (but not impossible) that there would be eggs in a nest now, see http://www.rspb.org.uk/birds/guide/s...ng/nesting.asp If it is necessary to move an occupied nest (permissible only if it constitutes a health hazard), see http://www.rspb.org.uk/gardens/advic...of/removal.asp HTH |

Their didn't seem much point in leaving the single egg:-) Yesterday a Starling was investigating the hole in our soffit where they nested last year. I'd say this is too early for them to have laid here. Might be different in an urban environment. regards >Give the starlings a nestbox. > -- Tim Lamb |
