Default mystery plant of foxglove type

I found this mystery plant growing near a roadside not far from Allenbanks in
Northumberland. It was like the picture in late June.
Do you know what it is?

Thanks, I have never noticed this one before and assumed it was something
rare! It was also rather big, about 4 to 5 feet.
