May seem like an odd posting for this newsgroup, but the aforementioned
farm is up for auction on Friday, price guide £300-350K. The farm is located right next to the coast and consists of various farm buildings plus 21 acres of conservation land which attracts many migrant birds (the farm was featured in last Sunday's Sunday Times property section). The reason for my posting is that I am looking for 349+ nature enthusiasts, bird watchers etc etc to put up £1K for a consortium bid for this farm. Assuming our bid is successful, you will end up with an equal 1/350th share in this wonderful location. Between us we will decide how best to develop the farm for the benefit of the local fauna and flora - we could turn it into west Wales' equivalent of the world-renowned Portland Bird Observatory or Lundy... Unfortunately we do not have much time to act - the auction will take place for this Friday (27th Sept) in Haverfordwest. Assuming I get enough contributors together I shall travel down and make a bid on behalf of the consortium. My plan is, if successful, to use a reputable solicitor to oversee the collection of funds and purchase of the farm, also to prepare an agreement for the consortium members to protect and enforce members' rights and interests. I have set-up a temporary web-site (www.littlemarloesfarm.com) with further information on the farm plus a list of contributors with a running total of what has been committed. The site will shortly include a form for people to join the bidding consortium. If you want to sign up or want to discuss this further please call me on my mobile +44 (0)7880 500643. Please feel free to forward this note to whoever you think may be interested or cross-post to other relevant newsgroups etc etc. I look forward to hearing from you. Cheers David Mercer PS If we are successful you will have your summer holidays sorted out for the next few years (if you need any help persuading your spouses)! |
